Graphene Technology
As a material with a number of extraordinary properties, graphene has the potential to transform multiple technologies – from flexible, and transparent electronics, to new energy applications and novel functional composites. Our graphene-related projects range from new synthesis to graphene devices. Our interest also include other 2D materials and graphene related 3D materials.
Mechanics of Materials
We are interested in understanding structure-mechanical properties relations in different materials by conducting in situ mechanical testing at micro/nano levels. We use a combination of mechanical tests such as compression, nanoindentation, microtensile and structural characterization techniques e.g. SEM and AFM to study mechanical properties of ceramic materials, viscoelastic polymers, etc. Understanding mechanical behavior of materials in harsh environments is yet another area of interest.
