I am a Systems Analyst at the University of New Mexico.
I have been working in the field of Systems Programming since the early 1980's. I have been mostly involved in the IBM Mainframe side of things. Now things are beginning to change.
My current responsibilities include Desktop computer systems installation and management. VM/ESA support, installation and maintenance. VTAM network management.
Currently my duties are focusing on Desktop software installation and support. This includes Windows, in all it's flavors, Oracle client installation and support, As well as Network setup for the desktop machines. I also help install and maintain IBM's VM/ESA system and our mainframe VTAM network on both VM and MVS.
I am part of the Systems Programming team here at UNM.
The systems team at UNM is comprised of 9 individuals supporting various systems and applications. Currently our IBM mainframe is a 9672-RA5 processor. We are in the process of implementing IBM's new RAMAC Virtual Array data storage as well as one of the new robotic tape cartridge libraries. This is all new state of the art hardware and brings UNM to the forefront in mainframe computer systems.
For anyone using Windows try out the ICQ program. It is one of the most amazing Internet connection programs I have ever had the pleasure to use.

My name is Mickey Tibbetts. I have worked in the computer field for approximately 20 years. I have been involved in different aspects of corporate data centers including Computer Operations, Data Communications and Systems Programming. Currently I am doing Desktop Support.
On October 9th, 1997, I will be 44 years old. I am married with two wonderful children. My wife's name is Melissa Matson. She is a teacher of the Alexander Technique and will be starting a training program for Alexander teachers in Vienna, Austria this fall. Our two children are Matt and Oona. Matt turned 9 on March 2nd, 1997 and Oona turned 7 on April 29th, 1997. Our friend, Jackie Mathey, took this picture of them last year.
My major pastime is my study of the Japanese martial art Aikido. I study at the Albuquerque Ki Society at 112 Morningside NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico and I currently hold the rank of Sankyu. My sensei is Steven Merley who currently holds the rank of Sandan (third degree black belt). Ours is a small dojo but we are always interested in new students as this is a very important study of ones spirit that can be naught but helpful to all. Please come by and visit.
