Bio:
Dr.
Nathan Jackson joined the Mechanical Engineering Department in 2017 after
working at a National Institute in Ireland for 8 years. He has an extensive
background in developing novel “Smart” materials and integrating them in
various MEMS applications. His group focuses on applied research that can be
transferrable to real life applications including: IoT and biomedical
applications. His interests include: piezoelectric materials, vibrational
energy harvesters, acoustic resonators, atomizers, flexible/stretchable
electronics, biosensors, neural interfaces, and MEMS packaging. He is a Senior
Member of IEEE and a finalist for Inventor of the year in ICT in Ireland.
