Basic design concepts of water and wastewater treatment. Flow rates, characterization of water, materials balances, coagulation, flocculation, filtration, sedimentation, biological treatment and disinfection. Prerequisites: 331L, CHEM 122L.

CE 536 - Biological Wastewater Treatment
Principles and design of wastewater treatment systems which are dependent on biological organisms. Processes covered include suspended culture and fixed culture systems, nutrient removal, hybrid systems, land application and on-site treatment systems.
