ISLETA
TO SAN ACACIA VEGETATION TRENDS
OVER
A TWENTY YEAR SPAN (’92-’12)
Methods
The projection used in the project is
the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83) State Plane Central Zone of New
Mexico. This projection fits the project well as the entire stretch is located
in the central part of the state where Central Zone of New Mexico is
positioned.

Mexico circled in blue, work area highlighted in red
Aerial photography was obtained from
the Reclamation for the selected years. If there was multiple photography
flights for the selected year, the month with lowest flow was chosen.

Information about the aerial
photography used in the study
Once maps
were obtained a geodatabase was created to house all the feature classes. A
boundary was then created so ever year would have the same extents (PHOTO). The
Isleta and San Acacia dams were used as upstream and downstream boundaries,
respectively. The levees were used as lateral boundaries along the river. The
total area of the boundary polygon was 12,525 acres.
