Introduction

Mentoring is a recognized professional strategy used by organizations throughout the United States. The process of mentoring has many dimensions - all of which can be useful to the person being mentored. Mentoring is a learning relationship between two individuals. In mentoring, individuals enter in a relationship that is focused on the effectiveness and development of the mentee. The mentor facilitates learning based on the unique needs of the mentee.

The Department of Human Resources is piloting a management mentorship program intended to help new managers experience a successful transition to their job. We are seeking experienced successful managers who are willing to share their experiences and insights in an effort to help other managers also realize success.
