Exercise in Extreme Environments

Spring, 2002

This course is structured to provide content on the research-based findings of how certain environmental stresses alter the physiological responses to exercise.  The environmental stressors to be covered are;

Hypoxia

Thermal stress (heat and cold)

Altered Gravitational Forces

a) Microgravity
b) Positive g-Forces
Hyperbaria
Pollution

All material for the course is found within this website, and you are encouraged to thoroughly review this site, print needed documents, and commence reading (see references links) as soon as possible.  I also recommend that you become familiar with the 2 laboratory sessions within the course, and even begin to prepare certain sections of these reports (Introduction, Methods, References).
